I think these videos are good advertising for Nintendo, if only for the fact that they show that, despite widespread belief to the contrary, the Wii U is a real thing that actually exists.

Even the leveling up and trinkets couldn’t keep me hooked on Infinity Blade… and I’m a self professed OCD gamer. Just check out my Skyrim file. I still continue to mindlessly grind the crap out of my character in that stupid game.

I am happy to discover that at least one other person also found Infinity Blade to be a copy of Fruit Ninja. Picked this up on sale, but deleted after less than an hour.
Just like Fruit Ninja, you can wildly swipe your finger on the screen and that will usually be sufficient to win. Ridiculous. I suppose it’s the trinkets and hats that keeps the kids hooked.

The battles are gorgeously rendered. It has a great Sci FI epic feel. But waiting for them to render/download drags the pace to a halt. Also, no one seems to be playing. That’s hurting the pace also.

There was a talk at GDC about Galactic Reign. I gather they put a lot of work into rendering out these beautiful cinematic cutscenes portraying the outcome of every battle. That’s probably where the cloud component comes in.
