Playing – Patapon 2 (PSP/Vita)
I am guilty of something that I imagine many gamers are. I have not played a Patapon game until now. I got to dig into it quite a bit from 1% complete to 30% complete in a day. You know what? This game is crazy, addictive, and just down right fun!
At first, I was not paying much attention to what my Patapon warriors were doing on screen. I was more worried about keeping the rhythm going. At some point (I have no idea when), my attention switched to watching all the action and not worrying about the rhythm. I can keep the game in ‘Fever’ mode through the entire level. I am now trying to adjust to the fact that sometimes that is not the best thing to do. Patapon 2 is very good at introducing new systems to you. I just learned that you have to watch what way the wind is blowing while hunting a creature that likes to kill me to death.
I am also pleased with the ease of transferring my save from my PSP to my Vita. I am doing most of my Patapon playing in a place that I am not ready for the shiny new Vita to go. The PSP had it’s day in the sun. It is time it does the hard work. I ran the game side by side. It’s true. The Vita’s screen is phenomenal! The game looks so much better there.

Playing – Expendables 2 (Playstation 3)
If you listen to the Playstation Blogcast (I do) and you recently enjoyed episode 36 (I did), then you may have heard a Vita tip. They say that the person who wrote that tip is named Donald Conrad. Yep, that would be me. My PS1/PS3/PSVita advice made the show. I promise the Post Script (P.S.) I wrote was not as illiterate as it was read (my wife checked the email before it went out. That mistake was on them.) It’s fine. I just enjoyed my words making it on the show. I am not sure how I felt about being called Don Con. Mostly because when people call me Don I will drop the last three letters in their name. If they can’t be bothered to go the distance, why should I?
Back to the topic, after my Reader Tip was featured, they emailed me a code for the Expendables 2 game. I am really excited for this movie. I have played the first mission in the game. I thought the format they were going with would excuse it from horrible movie tie in. All you needed was guns, explosions, and Stallone walking away from explosions in slow motion. You have all this, but something is not right here. I don’t know what yet. It controls fine.. I will get back to you on this one.

Beta – Carnival Carnage (Windows Phone 7)
GlowPuff sent me a new build of the game. The camera has been adjusted and the world environment is now in place. It’s strange to watch a game come together like this. I appreciate him letting me experience the process. The first build really was about controls. We talked about what could be added, what worked, and what didn’t. There are now some crazy new things in the game. What’s most important is that the clown killing is getting better and better. I can’t wait to see what people think about this game when they get it in their hands. I reached out to GlowPuff for a release date. I was hoping he would give me an answer like the big game companies do – “At this time we have no release day set.” then spend the next three paragraphs feeding the company line. GlowPuff just said, “when it’s done.”
Fair enough.

Waiting – Borderlands 2 (Xbox 360)
Remember that time that my wife came home with a pre-order receipt for Borderlands 2? Yeah, that happened!

I have been using Amazon for my gaming needs as of late. So why Gamestop? They had the Creature Slaughter Dome! My Xbox hard drive contains every piece of Borderlands DLC. So Amazon and Best Buy not having the Slaughter Dome was a big hit for them. I need to devour every bit of goodness that Gearbox hands out. I did things in the first game (that asked you to take three other people with you) by myself. How did I do that? I played way too much Borderlands. So, what do I do now that I have a hot receipt of pre-orderness? Pretty much look at it everyday and thing “AUUUUUGH WANT NOW!” Just forever more months.

Not wanted – iPhone (ATT)
My wife had a Samnsung Focus running the Windows Phone 7 OS. It died in a fantastic way. When we went to replace her phone, we used my upgrade to get her an iPhone. Well, after much fighting it to get it to do what she wants – post a picture right to Facebook from the camera. Why is that not there? – she decided that she doesn’t want it anymore. She took it back to find out that she is just a few days over the 30 day return period. Truth be told, I have been using it to play a few games, and I am starting to like it. GAH! I really didn’t want to like it, but there it is. I for see a swap in our future. I need to play more Simon And Mojo: Bath Time – It’s about giving your dog a bath — sicko.
Well, I’m off to game.

Besides, I think D-Con sounds a lot cooler, anyway. That’s the way we should go: B-Law and D-Con.
I am going to figure out how to make a Streets of Rage 2 clone with B-Law and D-Con as the main characters! Can I get a “Hell yeah!”?
You can’t get a Hell Yeah until you add an M-Ram to your list of main characters.
M-Ram can be the one that’s an inline skater with a bunch of breakdance moves.
What about T-Lor? We can’t have a game with out a pro-wrestling guy named T-Lor!
