The Finishing Journal – Page 13

Playing – Gravity Rush (PS Vita)
Look at that! I figured (read: Googled) how to take a screen shot with my Vita! I can also take pictures of me, but let’s face it, you don’t want to see that. Things have taken a turn in Gravity Rush, crazy turns! I am a big fan of the way the Japanese make a fantasy game. It’s slightly grounded in reality and then expanded with the mathematical formula STFU/(WTFxWTH)+GTFO=??.

Well, that is where I am at in Gravity Rush. Deep in that. I wish I could explain more, but it would be so full of spoilers that your ears and eyes may begin to bleed. I can say that your skill of falling for extended lengths of time (while dodging stuff) will be tested. For a lack of a better word, it is a rush. I have decided that I will be purchasing all the DLC this game offers. Short of having Kat’s head explode for no apparent reason, this game will review well. That is a review spoiler by the way.

Playing – Wizards Tower (Windows Phone 7)
Something about GlowPuff‘s games bother me. They are trapped. Trapped on Windows Phone. When I say that his games deserve to be on vastly more popular platforms, I mean it. There is no doubt that he is one of the top (if not the top) developers on the platform. I don’t review GlowPuff games. The reason is simple. I have ideas in most of them. By no means am I talking a large portion of ideas, more along the lines of just small things, but still, I must excuse myself from reviewing. It would be shady. But, I do think you should play Wizards Tower. GlowPuff just unleashed 30 (yeah 30) new leveles for it. A game he provides for free gets free DLC. How is that not the best thing ever? How does Wizards Tower play? Like a pumped up version of Mario vs Donkey Kong! I just started in on the DLC, and I am having a blast with all the new stuff added to the game.

IRL – Lavender Festival (Craft Fair)
Last year we drove for an hour to attend what my wife declared, “was the worst thing in the history of things”. She did declare that after we had paid and walked around only to return to the van a half hour later. So this year we did the only logical thing we could, we went back. Now, this year we had a better reason than “we hate ourselves”. One of her friends had a booth, and we went to support her. To my excitement, she has promised to knit me a TMNT Raphael hat. To answer the question that just exploded in your mind, yes, that is the best thing ever! Other than that, the festival sucked bad! It was declared we will “never go back there”, so stay tuned next year for when we go back.

Watched -Transformers: Dark of the Moon (“Movie”)
Remember when I reviewed Transformers: Dark of the Moon the Video game Based on Transformers: Dark of the Moon the movie? Remember how I said I would never watch it? Well, it seems I am a liar. Big old lying liar pants. I watched it. I have not done a Do Not Watch in quite a while, and a few of you have emailed asking why not. It seems my “witty” take on bad movies is appreciated by some people. Not my wife as we are watching a movie. So, look forward to that!

Playing – Duke Nukem Forever (PlayStation 3)
I tend to start these with updates on the games I am playing, but I feel as if this game deserves to be the foot note of the page. I talked to Rambler about our miss adventure the other day. We are both considering dropping it down to easy so we can plow though this mess. I just beat another boss. The game is on hard, and the boss was not that at all. It ended with me using his crotch as a speed bag. OH THAT IS FUNNY WHEN I AM 15! AUGH, why did I agree to this experiment? I wish the brain radiating had not had all it’s spots filled!

Well, I’m off to game.

Remember this?

I remember younger me wanting so badly to love this game.
How cruel game developers can be.
