Finishing – AirMech
I thought I was ready to step up to the big leagues in AirMech and leave the comfort of the bot matches to see what a human opponent can do. Great news everybody! I absolutely embarrassed myself. I thought I was doing great, but it wasn’t until hind sight kicked in that I realized I was being toyed with. Similar to letting a cat chase a laser pointer on the wall from the back of the sofa. It’s really fun until the jackass running the pointer rapidly moves so that the cat must leap out into open space to catch it, only to fall to the floor thinking the perch is still below them.

As I got crushed, I started to laugh. My domination proved that I had a lot to learn about AirMech. That is great news! What I thought was a great winning strategy amounted to little more than being tied to a chair and having my face beat in. I am not going to lie. It hurt a little. So, I went right back into the frey. I am proud to announce after much hard work, I don’t lose as badly now.

A few emails came in asking how to get into the AirMech Steam Beta. Since I was given a key, I had no idea. I would like to thank Carbon games for sending me some beta keys. If you want one drop me a line (Sorry, all the codes are now gone. I will see those who got one online.) I will see what I can do.

Finishing – 24 The Game
You know what 2K games? I hate you more than any human can hate a game developer. I have played some bad games in my day, but this? This? This takes the cake. I thought I would be done by now. Little did I know you were going to throw severely broken gameplay mechanics at me! I was running from some police (don’t ask, I wouldn’t want to bother you with the how and why). My goal was to evade them. Every time I got away a few more spawned right behind me. How do I know this? I was hand brake drifting around a corner and SAW IT HAPPEN! Seriously! I think it took me an hour to get through two “hours”. I was flying through this game! It’s like they really don’t care about me as a gamer or a quality product. I know I am flogging a severely life impaired horse here, but I think that 2K should not be forgiven for this! EVER.

I did get an unlockable piece of bonus content. The trailer for 24 season 4! That looks like it’s going to be good! I can’t wait for me in the past to watch it. I know he really likes how it ends. At this point I have fully embraced stuborn determination to see the end credits. The story took a sharp turn into generic/cliché. A moment that had the potential for thrills melted into me cursing the Gods as Jack got stuck on the arm of a chair, causing the camera to freak out. The event was time sensitive.

Finishing Amnesia: The Dark Decent
I did my part and spent some hard earned dollars on Humble Bundle V. What did I get for such a valiant act? The living crap scared out of me! I could have started with Superbrothers but noooooo. I do not know what is wrong with who ever made Amnesia but they need some serious therapy. Normal brains are not wired to create a game that tortures the player! If you have not heard of Amnesia, it’s a game where you have no weapons and lack the ability to fight back. Also, you are being chased by a “something evil”.

I found myself sitting in front of my computer monitor with my headphones on feeling my heart slamming against my rib cage. I was crouched in a corner inside the game. My character’s sanity was slipping and the creature chasing me was standing in a pool of foggy light just at the other end of the hall. You know what? It was traumatizing. If you are one of those people who cannot flip the switch and sink into the fiction of the game, there is no need to apply. You have to become Daniel, you have to immerse yourself in every bit and pixel of this game. I am still a little freaked out by it, and it’s not even running!

I’m drawing
I was presented the great honor of doing some art for a 4 year old’s birthday. His theme of choice? Batman. How awesome is that kid? I am sure lots of little boy’s pick Batman as their party theme, but he LIVES Batman. I may have gotten a little cranky at the 1 am mark, but that is to be expected. I am secretly cranky all the time. Some might even say I am seconds away from sitting in a wicker chair on my front porch and yelling at kids to get off my lawn. But, I am sure a good time will be had by all.

WOAH! I just heard a noise outside, and it scared me bad! It was just the neighbor getting home from whatever debauchery he was up to this evening. Amnesia is going to be the end of me!
