The Finishing Journal – Page 11

Playing – Gravity Rush (Vita)
I remember the first time I booted Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories up on my PSP. I couldn’t believe that they packed the entire city from GTA3 onto a portable. It was amazing! I got the same feeling when I loaded Gravity Rush. That feeling of wow was soon replaced with WOW!!! Gravity Rush is a treat to look at! Above that it is a treat to play. The city has so many nooks and cranny’s to explore! There is stuff to collect, powers to upgrade, and challenges to best. I have not even really dug into the story missions. I am getting side tracked constantly and loving it!

The power that Kat has is the superpower that I want. Suspending gravity and shifting it in a new direction is a rush! The sound that accompanies the falling is so awesome! I can’t really say much more other than flying under a floating city is so cool! This is one that will be keeping my attention for some time!

Finishing – Call of Duty Classic (XBLA)
What is going on? This game. THIS GAME! I am thinking about copying this game onto a memory stick, then throwing the memory stick into the garbage disposal. I don’t know if I suddenly suck at video games or if this game has the greatest peaks and valleys in difficulty of any game ever created? The thing is, I have already played all of these Russian missions in Call of Duty: World at War. You know what? The remake versions are way better!

I hit a road block at a hotel I have to clear out. It should be easy, but it’s not. I can clear 5 of 6 floors no problem. The last guys are held out in an attic. If you so much as pop your head up to try and sight one down, they all shoot at you. This causes instant death. If you throw a grenade up there they have enough room to run far enough away so that it doesn’t hurt them. What’s worse is that my “AI” partners are really stupid! How stupid? Lets just say that them throwing grenades and door jambs are a common issue. Luckily, it seems the highly deadly explosive always lands right between my feet. Then, I paint the walls red. Gurrr!

Talking – Pen Fights Gamepad
Remember that Podcast that lots of you downloaded? Well, Dan and I got together to record a second episode. Dan even put together a spiffy site on the topic. Check it out! We talk for a long, long time about a lot of stuff. It’s a super fun time so please keep downloading it so we can justify to our wives recording it. Also, don’t forget to visit Dan’s site! It’s the good DNF fan thing to do.

Well, off to play some games.

Remember this?

I rented this once. I think it was fun. I will have to wait for
Brad to tell me if it sucked or not.
